Campaign Story
* Typical cost of capstone projects (including registrations, travel and supplies) is about $1200.
* I am trying to raise $600 as family and school will cover the rest.
Goals for My Fundraiser:
Supporting my capstone project
*** I plan to pursue the project though participation in TSA activities like competitions and community service. ***
The Technology Student Association (TSA) is a national Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) that helps students explore STEM through hands-on projects, competitions, and leadership opportunities.
What is ‘Sustainable Software Solutions Incubator’
Launch a startup incubator project to prototype and develop eco-friendly software solutions addressing environmental challenges and promoting sustainable energy practices.
Why I am pursuing this project (My why)
- I am a ‘Strategist’ personality type person with strong ‘entrepreneurship’ business potential.
- I’m super into game development and I’m really good at it, especially when it comes to educational stuff. Right now, I’m working on a project that combines my love for gaming with my passion for green living. My goal? To create games that not only entertain, but also encourage people to take care of our planet..
My plan of action: Competitions and Activities
Career Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) to join:
TSA – The Technology Student Association provides hands-on experience in software development, technical projects, and leadership opportunities, making it a must-include for students pursuing tech-driven entrepreneurial projects.
FBLA – Future Business Leaders of America offers a platform to cultivate business acumen, leadership, and entrepreneurial strategies which can complement the technical aspects of the passion project.
Competitions
This introductory competition fits because it builds technical software development skills that are essential for the Sustainable Software Solutions Incubator. It encourages creative problem solving and practical coding experience.
FBLA – Business Management
This introductory competition fits as it helps build foundational business management and organizational skills, crucial for planning and running the incubator project.
This advanced TSA competition is a strong fit as it integrates sustainable energy themes with technical innovation. Its focus on design, testing, and documentation mirrors the sustainable goals of the incubator.
This advanced competition is ideal for refining business strategy, innovation, and market analysis, which are crucial for scaling the incubator project.
Community Service:
Community Technology Workshop
Why it fits: This activity is designed to engage local community members in sustainable technology practices, reflecting the incubator’s mission and providing real-world testing and feedback.
Implementation: Plan and execute a workshop in zip code 30319 during the Spring semester, where the student leads training sessions on digital literacy and sustainable tech practices, collaborating with local community centers.
Skills Development: Public speaking, community engagement, leadership, teaching, technical troubleshooting
