Campaign Story
* Typical cost of capstone projects (including registrations, travel and supplies) is about $1200.
* I am trying to raise $600 as family and school will cover the rest.
Goals for My Fundraiser:
Supporting my capstone project
*** I plan to pursue the project though participation in TSA activities like competitions and community service. ***
The Technology Student Association (TSA) is a national Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) that helps students explore STEM through hands-on projects, competitions, and leadership opportunities.
What is ‘Academic Pathways Research Forum’
A project designed to create a forum and series of workshops where students can explore academic research, discuss educational choices, and understand the role of privacy in digital learning environments.

Why I am pursuing this project (My why)
- I am a ‘Reflective Thinker’ personality type person with strong ‘advocate’ business potential.
- I’m super passionate about studying how society and family life impact our health. I’m also really good at helping people figure out their school stuff as an academic counselor. So, I’m starting this cool project to help students make smart school choices, in hopes of teaching them about privacy and understanding life better through learning..
My plan of action: Competitions and Activities
Career Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) to join:
TSA (Technology Student Association) – The primary CTSO which emphasizes leadership in technology, project management, and technical innovation, offering opportunities that align with the project’s use of data and digital platforms.
FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) – FBLA offers resources in business management, project execution, and data analysis, reinforcing skills in leadership and strategic planning essential for academic and advocacy projects.
Competitions
TSA – Software DevelopmentThis introductory competition fits because it builds essential technical and project management skills, enabling the student to develop software solutions that mirror the research forum’s goals.
HOSA – Public Service Announcement
This introductory competition is ideal as it enhances communication and media production skills while encouraging research into community health and education topics, which tie into the Academic Pathways Research Forum purpose.
FBLA – Partnership with Business ProjectThis advanced competition is perfectly suited for the project as it demands strategic planning and effective partnership-building, crucial for establishing a sustainable Academic Pathways Research Forum.
DECA – Innovation PlanThis advanced competition promotes innovative problem-solving and entrepreneurial skills, encouraging the formulation of creative solutions that can be directly applied to refining the research forum.
Community Service:
STEM & Career Guidance Workshop Series
Why it fits: This activity leverages the skills acquired from the competitions and addresses a clear community need by providing career and STEM guidance to local youth in the 30058 area.
Implementation: The student will organize a series of workshops in collaboration with local mentors and nonprofits, schedule sessions in community centers, and include interactive elements that connect academic research with real-world applications.
Skills Development: Leadership, event planning, mentorship, public engagement
