Campaign Story

* Typical cost of capstone projects (including registrations, travel and supplies) is about $1200.
* I am trying to raise $600 as family and school will cover the rest.

Goals for My Fundraiser:

Supporting my capstone project

*** I plan to pursue the project though participation in TSA activities like competitions and community service. ***

The Technology Student Association (TSA) is a national Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) that helps students explore STEM through hands-on projects, competitions, and leadership opportunities.

What is ‘Digital Historical Campaign’

A passion project that merges modern visual effects with historical documentary storytelling to raise awareness for global famine relief. The project involves creating visually stunning, historically contextual digital content to promote social consciousness and fund famine relief initiatives.

Components:

Research of historical events

Scriptwriting

Storyboard creation

Digital visual effects

Production of short documentaries

Social media campaign development.

Why I am pursuing this project (My why)

  1. I am a ‘Community Builder’ personality type person with strong ‘advocate’ business potential.
  2. I’m using my knack for creating cool visuals with a touch of history to work on a project designing impactful campaigns. My goal? To use my skills as a visual designer to make a difference and promote kindness and personal growth in the fight against global hunger..

My plan of action: Competitions and Activities

Career Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) to join:

TSA – The Technology Student Association focuses on technology, design, and innovation, providing a platform to integrate modern tech with creative projects. It cultivates skills in teamwork, technical communication, and project leadership.

FBLA – Future Business Leaders of America emphasizes leadership, effective communication, and business acumen. It is ideal for students aiming to build advocacy projects that bridge creative design and social impact while nurturing delegation and consensus building.

Competitions

TSA – Audio PodcastingThis introductory competition harnesses storytelling and digital audio production skills essential for creating engaging historical narratives for the digital campaign.

FBLA – Website Coding & Development

This introductory competition builds technical skills by guiding the student to create an online platform that can host and showcase the digital historical campaign.

FBLA – Business PlanThis advanced competition enables strategic planning skills and deep market research, which are crucial for outlining the campaign’s business model, outreach, and sustainability.

TSA – Software DevelopmentAlthough typically introductory, this competition is positioned as an advanced project by focusing on building an interactive software tool that complements the digital campaign through digital engagement and interactive storytelling.

Community Service:

Local History Digital Archive Project

Why it fits: This community service activity directly supports the digital historical campaign’s mission by preserving and showcasing local history, while applying skills learned from the competitions.

Implementation: Student collaborates with local libraries and historical societies in zip code 30084 to digitize historical documents and create an accessible online archive, involving planning meetings and outreach events.

Skills Development: Research, digital archiving, project management
