Campaign Story

* Typical cost of capstone projects (including registrations, travel and supplies) is about $1200.
* I am trying to raise $600 as family and school will cover the rest.

Goals for My Fundraiser:

Supporting my capstone project

*** I plan to pursue the project though participation in TSA activities like competitions and community service. ***

The Technology Student Association (TSA) is a national Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) that helps students explore STEM through hands-on projects, competitions, and leadership opportunities.

What is ‘Digital Wellness Initiative’

A project that combines digital art therapy with mental health workshops to support low-income families, using creative digital content to promote mental well-being and financial literacy.

Components:

Development of digital media (videos

Podcasts

Interactive art)

Art therapy workshops

Strategic research

Data analysis on community impact

Administration of online financial literacy modules.

Why I am pursuing this project (My why)

  1. I am a ‘Strategist’ personality type person with strong ‘entrepreneurship’ business potential.
  2. I’m super into making digital art that explores how our bodies and minds work. I want to use this passion to help low-income families as an art therapist, with the ultimate goal of teaching them about money management to improve their lives..

My plan of action: Competitions and Activities

Career Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) to join:

TSA – TSA (Technology Student Association) focuses on technology, design, and entrepreneurial projects. It offers competitions and skill-building opportunities that align with digital content creation and structured project management.

HOSA – HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) emphasizes health sciences and community health initiatives, which complements the art therapy and mental health aspects of the project.

Competitions

TSA – Software DevelopmentThis introductory competition helps develop technical, problem-solving, and project planning skills essential for creating a digital platform that supports digital wellness.

TSA – Digital Video Production

This introductory competition enhances multimedia storytelling and communication skills, which are critical for promoting and disseminating the digital wellness initiative.

HOSA – Healthy LivingThis introductory competition focuses on developing healthy lifestyle practices and setting smart wellness goals, aligning with the initiative’s emphasis on balancing digital usage with physical well-being.

HOSA – Mental Health PromotionThis introductory competition allows exploration of mental health awareness and the development of advocacy strategies, which directly supports the digital wellness initiative’s focus on psychological well-being.

Community Service:

Digital Literacy Community Workshop

Why it fits: This service activity reinforces skills learned through competitions and directly addresses the digital divide by teaching community members how to use technology safely and effectively.

Implementation: Organize a series of workshops in zip code 30029 by partnering with local libraries and tech centers, incorporating interactive sessions on digital wellness and safety.

Skills Development: Community engagement, teaching, event planning
