Campaign Story

* Typical cost of capstone projects (including registrations, travel and supplies) is about $1200.
* I am trying to raise $600 as family and school will cover the rest.

Goals for My Fundraiser:

Supporting my capstone project

*** I plan to pursue the project though participation in TSA activities like competitions and community service. ***

The Technology Student Association (TSA) is a national Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) that helps students explore STEM through hands-on projects, competitions, and leadership opportunities.

What is ‘Eco-Justice Visual Campaign’

A multimedia campaign using creative visual communication to advocate for environmental solutions and social equity. The project involves producing social media content, posters, and digital art pieces that highlight environmental justice issues in urban areas.

Components:

Researching environmental issues

Crafting compelling written narratives

Executing a coordinated creative project

Delegating tasks among team members

Engaging in critical questioning of current urban policies.

Why I am pursuing this project (My why)

  1. I am a ‘Adapter’ personality type person with strong ‘advocate’ business potential.
  2. I’m super passionate about planning cities with a focus on the environment and making sure everyone gets a fair deal. I’m really good at connecting with people in my nonprofit work. So, I’ve decided to use my skills to stand up for what’s right and show it through cool visuals. My goal? To use kindness and resilience to encourage solutions for our environment..

My plan of action: Competitions and Activities

Career Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) to join:

TSA – The Technology Student Association fosters innovation, hands-on problem solving, and project-based learning, making it ideal for integrating tech and creative solutions in advocacy projects.

FCCLA – Family, Career and Community Leaders of America focuses on leadership, community service, and effective communication, supporting initiatives that blend social outreach with practical project management.

Competitions

TSA – Digital Video Production

This introductory competition is ideal for showcasing eco-justice themes through compelling visual storytelling. It enables students to craft a powerful narrative using video, aligning perfectly with the Eco-Justice Visual Campaign.

TSA – Promotional Design

This introductory competition emphasizes creative graphic design and promotional strategy, which supports the visual branding and messaging components of the Eco-Justice campaign.

FCCLA – Community Service Project

This introductory competition encourages students to engage directly with their community to address real-world issues. It complements the Eco-Justice campaign by emphasizing actionable community change and sustainability.

FCCLA – Business Ethics

This advanced competition challenges students to address ethical dilemmas in business, aligning with the eco-justice theme by promoting sustainable and responsible practices.

Community Service:

Local Environmental Awareness Fair

Why it fits: This community service activity directly engages the local community of zip code 40430, promoting environmental awareness and sustainable practices. It reinforces the campaign’s message by translating learned skills into real-world impact.

Implementation: Plan and organize an environmental fair that features interactive workshops, eco-friendly vendors, and informative exhibits about sustainability. Collaborate with local non-profits and schools to maximize outreach and participation.

Skills Development: Event planning, public speaking, community outreach, environmental education
