Campaign Story

* Typical cost of capstone projects (including registrations, travel and supplies) is about $1200.
* I am trying to raise $600 as family and school will cover the rest.

Goals for My Fundraiser:

Supporting my capstone project

*** I plan to pursue the project though participation in TSA activities like competitions and community service. ***

The Technology Student Association (TSA) is a national Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) that helps students explore STEM through hands-on projects, competitions, and leadership opportunities.

What is ‘Eco-Racing Innovation’

Develop a high-performance sustainable racing car prototype that uses eco-friendly energy sources. This project bridges advanced automotive engineering with environmental sustainability.

Components:

Conceptual design

Sustainability research

Prototyping

Testing

Comprehensive technical documentation.

Why I am pursuing this project (My why)

  1. I am a ‘Adapter’ personality type person with strong ‘innovator’ business potential.
  2. I’m really into designing sustainable car tech and race cars. So, I’m working on this cool project to make eco-friendly transportation even better. My dream is to use this knowledge to help create green solutions for treating cancer..

My plan of action: Competitions and Activities

Career Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) to join:

TSA – Technology Student Association focuses on STEM competitions and leadership in engineering design; it offers hands-on opportunities that align closely with automotive innovation and prototyping.

SkillsUSA – SkillsUSA provides technical skill development and practical competitions in trades, including automotive technology, complementing the student’s strengths in technical execution and action-oriented projects.

Competitions

TSA – Senior Solar SprintThis introductory TSA competition aligns directly with the Eco-Racing Innovation project by challenging participants to design, build, and race a solar-powered vehicle, which enhances understanding of renewable energy and sustainable design.

SkillsUSA – Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair

This introductory competition provides crucial hands-on experience with automotive mechanics, ensuring that the student gains foundational maintenance and repair skills necessary for developing a reliable eco-friendly racing vehicle.

TSA – Engineering DesignThis advanced TSA competition pushes the student to develop innovative design solutions. It directly supports the Eco-Racing Innovation project by requiring creative problem-solving and prototype development under advanced conditions.

SkillsUSA – EntrepreneurshipThis advanced competition encourages students to create robust business plans and pitch innovative ideas. It is ideal for translating the technical success of the eco-racing project into a scalable business model.

Community Service:

Eco-Innovation Workshop

Why it fits: This community service activity transforms technical skills from competitions into practical community engagement, promoting eco-friendly transportation and sustainable practices in the local area (zip code 30143).

Implementation: Organize a workshop in collaboration with local schools, community centers, and environmental groups. The event will feature hands-on demonstrations, presentations on renewable energy, and interactive sessions on sustainable vehicle technology.

Skills Development: Leadership, public speaking, community outreach, event planning, and environmental education.
