Campaign Story
* Typical cost of capstone projects (including registrations, travel and supplies) is about $1200.
* I am trying to raise $600 as family and school will cover the rest.
Goals for My Fundraiser:
Supporting my capstone project
*** I plan to pursue the project though participation in TSA activities like competitions and community service. ***
The Technology Student Association (TSA) is a national Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) that helps students explore STEM through hands-on projects, competitions, and leadership opportunities.
What is ‘Equality in Fiction Virtual Book Club’
A virtual book club that features moderated discussions, live author talks, and panels with education advocates to discuss how fiction mirrors real-world challenges in educational inequality.

Why I am pursuing this project (My why)
- I am a ‘Reflective Thinker’ personality type person with strong ‘advocate’ business potential.
- I’m super into writing crime and fantasy novels, especially ones that talk about school stuff. I’m pretty good at making stories that keep people hooked, so I’m working on a book that promotes fairness, education and looking out for kids. My hope is that this could help make education equal for everyone, everywhere..
My plan of action: Competitions and Activities
Career Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) to join:
TSA – TSA is the primary CTSO for technical and creative projects, offering competitions and projects that foster hands-on learning and innovative problem-solving, aligning with the project’s digital and interactive components.
FBLA – FBLA provides business leadership and management skills. Its focus on project planning, risk management, and strategic partnerships supports the advocacy element of the passion project.
Competitions
FBLA – Business Communication
This introductory competition focuses on effective business and public communication, which is key to promoting and managing a virtual book club. It helps the student learn how to articulate ideas and engage audiences actionably.
Community Service:
Local Literacy and Community Engagement Initiative
Why it fits: This activity effectively leverages the skills gained from the competitions to enhance literary engagement and promote educational equality within the local community. It connects the virtual book club’s mission with practical community outreach.
Implementation: Organize a series of literacy workshops and book discussion groups in the Marietta area (zip code 30037). The student will partner with local libraries and community centers to run themed sessions, collect feedback, and refine outreach methods.
Skills Development: Project management, community outreach, public speaking, teamwork, and leadership
